The University of Texas Department of Astronomy and McDonald Observatory sponsor several public outreach programs. These programs are designed to educate the public about astronomy through public telescope nights, lectures and reading materials. We also offer a daytime field trip opportunity for area teachers that includes a visit to the solar telescope.
