Welcome to the University of Texas Skywatchers' Report for May 28th through June 2nd.

The moon is at third quarter phase on the 2nd.

Jupiter and Venus, the two brightest planets in our sky, continue to move closer to one another in the west each evening this week. The two will reach their closest point to one another on June 3rd.

The space shuttle Endeavour is due to lift off this week to deliver a new crew to the International Space Station and continue assembly work on the outpost. Log on to spaceflight.nasa.gov to follow the mission and check for opportunities to see the station and shuttle from your hometown.

Public viewing on campus telescopes is currently on break between semesters. Summer viewing will resume in June. Please call this recording to check times before planning a visit to the telescopes.
